A man has been arrested in connection with alleged fraudulent activity and bribes.
Gardai carried out searches earlier this year in Waterford, Dublin, Wicklow and Meath where files and electronic storage devices were seized.
He was reported by his former employer on suspicion of falsifying records and deceiving applicants into believing he had processed their financial applications.
Gardai say the man attempted to destroy evidence, and that corrupt payments of up to €17,000 were also made in the form of bribes to conceal the criminal activity.
The man in his 40s is currently detained in Blanchardstown Garda Station.
