The administration of the Covid Vaccine to octogenarians is continuing in Waterford.
That's despite the decision to suspend the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine here on Sunday due to a small number of blood clotting issues in a number of countries.
30,000 people will miss out on their vaccine this week as a result.
The World Health Organisation is investigating the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine at a special meeting today. The European Medicines Agency is also meeting today with a decision expected to be made on the AstraZeneca vaccine on Thursday.
Kilmeaden couple Michael and Ann Cronin were among those to receive their vaccination at the HSE's Waterford Primary Care Centre this morning.
They were welcomed by their GP Dr Paul Campbell to John's Hill Medical Practice located in the building.
Afterwards, the couple echoed Dr Campbell and the team at the John's Hill Medical Practice's encouragement of everyone to avail of the vaccine when their opportunity comes around.

GP Tadhg O'Carroll received enough supply to vaccinate approximately 90 octogenarians today.
The family doctor who is based in Tycor in Waterford City took to Twitter to welcome the delivery.
