1. Covid-19 vaccine roll-out to housebound patients begins

A plan has been agreed upon by GPs and the IMO, and the National Ambulance Service will visit housebound patients to administer the jab. Meanwhile Fianna Fáil MEP Billy Kelliher  has called on the Taoiseach to use his St Patrick's Day meeting with Joe Biden to ask him to give Ireland spare vaccines.

2. Lafcadio Ahearne Gardens leased to non-profit company

Local councillor Joe Kelly says the site of the Japanse Gardens was a "dilapidated dump" before its conversion. Councillors voted yesterday to lease the popular attraction to a new non-profit company.

3. Body of Sarah Everard recovered in the UK

British police have confirmed the body found in Kent woodland on Wednesday is that of Sarah Everard. A police officer is still being questioned on suspicion of her murder and kidnap. 33 year old Sarah went missing in London over a week ago when she was walking home from her friend’s house.

4. A third of racehorse trainers met threshold for depression, according to WIT study

The first study of its kind in Ireland and one of very few to explore racehorse trainer mental health globally obtained data from 124, or almost 30%, of racehorse trainers in Ireland. The study, funded by Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board’s (IHRB), was conducted by Lewis King, a PhD student in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and is published in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science.

5. First prize for Waterford student at Junior Maths Competition

Three first-year students at Ardscoil na Mara, Tramore came home with awards at this year’s IMTA Junior Maths Competition. The competition was held online this year and the scores were ranked. Click here for full results.

6. Waterford Music Week kicks off next Monday
