A search has been stood down in Waterford City this afternoon and the person involved has been located safe and well.
Today at 14:44 the Irish Coast Guard activated the pagers of Waterford City River Rescue following reports of a person in danger.
Waterford City River Rescue's lifeboats the “Lenny O” and “Trish Nell 2” were launched.
An intensive search of the area was conducted by Waterford City River Rescue, Waterford City Fire Service, and Rescue 117.
The person was located safe and well, and all crews were stood down and returned to base.
Waterford City River Rescue wants to reiterate the importance of an early call to the Emergency Services for water incidents so the relevant services can be dispatched promptly.
