Gardaí in the Waterford Division sustained the most amount of injuries in the country in 2020.
The Irish Examiner reports that almost 200 Gardaí were injured in the line of duty nationally.
24 members of An Garda Síochána in Waterford sustained occupational assault injuries last year.
According to the publication, the level of injury in Waterford was “far above other divisions” and accounted for almost one in eight of the cases nationally.

Among the 199 cases reported last year, there were 16 injuries in the Laois/Offaly Division, 15 in Galway, 12 in Dublin North-Cental and 11 in Dublin North and 13 in Cork City and West.
