The five-part drama follows the lives of a group of young gay men who move to London in the 1980s, just when the AIDS crisis is beginning to take hold. The drama was created by Russell T Davies, who brought us Dr Who, Years and Years and the groundbreaking Queer as Folk.
Maria says she loved the series, and thought it was a heartbreaking depiction of how lives were shattered by AIDs, against a back drop of homophobia and stigmatisation. She also points out some stand-out performances.
