The fit out for the new Vero Moda store in the City Square shopping centre began on Monday morning.

The ladies fashion retailer will be ready to open when level 5 restrictions are eased.

It's one of two new additions to the shopping centre, with a new cafe called the Pantry also moving into the food court in the space formerly occupied by Ramen.

City Square manager Denis Carroll said there has been great feedback already to the news:

"It will be a great addition to the centre providing high-quality trend-driven ladies fashion. We're really excited about it, we put a little teaser on social media and the feedback is great - it looks like many our customers are really looking forward to it."

Denis says the Pantry will also be a good addition, giving a greater range of options from breakfast time right throughout the day.

He's hopeful that Vero Moda will be able to open on December 2nd along with the rest of the stores currently closed. However, the operation of the food court will depend on whether we are in Level 2 or 3 restrictions.

Denis also revealed his hope that City Square can operate extended opening hours, as he said there will be "pent up demand" once retail is opened up.

He said "stores are doing a great job and have done" and appealed to customers to keep following all the precautions when shopping.
