Do you think our schools should close early for Christmas this year?!
The Teachers' Union of Ireland (TUI) have sparked much debate following their call for "serious consideration" to be given to closing schools for the Christmas break on December 18.
As it stands, all schools are due to close on December 22.
The TUI claims both students and teachers would benefit from more time to restrict their movements before meeting elderly or vulnerable relatives.
They also say such a move would boost morale.
On this morning's Deise Today, Damien spoke to Seamus Lahart who is the Clonmel-based Assistant General Secretary of the TUI.
The interview sparked a flood of comments to Deise Today. Some listeners were in favour of the TUI 's proposals, but others were not impressed!
