There have been over 1,000 new outbreaks of Covid 19 in the last week.
That's according to the latest Epidemiology report issued by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
10 of the outbreaks are in school settings, but the majority of the 1,057 new outbreaks are in private homes.
Over the past seven days, there were 20 outbreaks in workplaces - four of which are workplaces in the South East.
Of the 20 workplace outbreaks nationwide, three are in meat processing plants, four are in construction and 13 in workplace settings classified as 'other'.
9 of the outbreaks are in hospitals, while 7 are in residential institutions
12 relate to extended families, while 15 are classed as Community outbreaks and two are in direct provision centres.]
Regarding the 10 outbreaks associated which schools the Health Protection Surveillance Centre says the outbreaks are associated with school children and/or school staff.
