Drool!
Today, November 3rd is officially known as one of the tastiest days of the year - World Sandwich Day!
In celebration of the day that's in it, The Irish Bread Bakers Association commissioned a survey and the results of Ireland's favourite sandwich are in..
Its official! The trusty ham and cheese toasty is still Ireland’s favourite sandwich! #WorldSandwichDay #NewResearch

The ham and cheese toastie is the most popular sandwich in Ireland, followed by a turkey and stuffing / leftover Christmas dinner sambo.
This morning, Ollie and Mary on The Big Breakfast Blaa asked the people of Waterford for their favourite sambo combos and got lots of suggestions in, but variations of a turkey/stuffing sandwich proved the most popular.
There were also LOTS of pretty strange combinations..
Hazel in Dunmore East filled Ollie and Mary in on her husband Tom's favourite sandwiches to make - the Tuna Melt and a Meatball Sandwich with all the sauce mopped up.
Needless to say, there were bellies rumbling all over the city and county this morning!
@wlrfm talking about food all morning and I'm waiting 4 hours for my break in work #starving ?

We also LOVED the look of this sandwich from Faithlegg Hotel, made using ingredients from some Waterford suppliers..
Its nearing #lunchtime and what we wouldn't give for one of our Faithlegg Toasties right now. #WorldSandwichDay
