New figures released by the Department of Health show that the numbers of Covid-19 cases are continuing to fall in Waterford City.

However, there has been an increase in Dungarvan.

This is the fourth week that the breakdown of Covid-19 cases by local electoral area (LEA) is available, this week is the first time that Dungarvan has been included - there were fewer than five cases in previous releases. For confidentiality reasons, LEA's with cases over the reporting period of between 0-4 have been suppressed to 'less than 5 cases'.

In the two weeks from the 22nd of September to the 5th of October, there were 9 cases in the Dungarvan area. That gives an incidence rate of 43.9 per 100,000 population.

In Tramore Waterford City West there were 10 cases during that time, that's down from 17 a week ago - it peaked at 30 cases in the middle of September. The incidence rate (as of Monday) is 44.1

Waterford City South and Waterford City East both had five cases, down from 24 and 15 cases respectively last week. The incidence rate in Waterford City South is down to 22.2 and it's 21.8 in Waterford City East.

There was no change in either Lismore or Portlaw/Kilmacthomas where there were fewer than five cases in each area.
