Tramore has won the Overall Local Business and Community Response initiative in the Begin Together Awards.
The awards, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, recognised the way in which the seaside town pulled together in its response to the pandemic.
A video was put together by Waterford Chamber and Waterford LEO showcasing local businesses such as Nearform, Cove Stores, the Ladies Slip and Redlane, alongside the town's GAA and soccer clubs, Tidy Towns and Meals on Wheels.
The award comes with cash prize of €20,000.
Presenting the award on twitter this morning, former rugby player Tommy Bowe said the video presentation was "powerful" with "an excellent panel" and showed how the whole community were looked after during a difficult time.
Thrilled to have anchored the presentation mentioned below for @WaterfordCounci, @waterfordcc & @bankofireland to showcase Tramore's business & community response to COVID-19.
