Vanity Fair has tweeted the trailer for 'The Comey Rule' the eagerly awaited Showtime adaptation of the memoir of former FBI director James Comey.

Starring Irish actor (no not British!) Brendan Gleeson as president Donald Trump and Jeff Daniels as James Comey, the mini-series focuses on the FBI's involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

From writer-director Billy Ray, best known for the true-life films Richard JewellCaptain Phillips, and Shattered Glass, the show deals with the fall out from those emails from Hilary Clinton and looks at the involvement of Russia in the campaign.

Based on James Comey's book A Higher Loyalty the series is set to be released ahead of the November presidential election and is sure to anger president Trump. It may even result in an Emmy for Ireland's Brendan Gleeson who is getting rave reviews.
