"The Waxed Lemon" is a new literary journal created in Waterford

The Waxed Lemon is a new literary publication, co-edited by Waterford based Joanne McCarthy and Derek Flynn. They're looking for short stories, poems, flash fiction, art and photography to fill the pages of this journal, which will be in physical, rather than digital form. Tullamore born author Marianne Lee has had her debut novel, A Quiet Tide published. It's a piece of historical fiction, based on Ireland's first female botanist, Ellen Hutchins, who lived in the early 19th century. Marianne chatted to me about why she was drawn to that particular era in Irish history...

Waterford artist Peter Power teamed up with Leon Butler to create a digital monument, showcasing the unseen experiences of lockdown. Shelter and Place was a feature of both the Carlow Arts Festival and the Cork Midsummer Festival.
