Counting is continuing into the wee hours in the General Election in Waterford, with five candidates now eliminated.

Una Dunphy of Solidarity People Before Profit was eliminated in the fifth count.

Labour's John Pratt was eliminated in the fourth count.

This is the result of the fifth count and the transfer of votes from the eliminated candidate John Pratt:

John Cummins FG +300, total 5,784

Una Dunphy SPBP +500, total 5,444 (she is eliminated)

Damien Geoghegan FG +798, total 5,473

Marc O Cathasaigh GP +897, total 6,873

Matt Shanahan NP + 691, total 8,576

Sinn Féin's David Cullinane is still the only elected TD in the constituency.

He topped the poll with a massive 20,569 first preference votes.

Aontú’s Dr Ronan Cleary and Independent Bernadette Philips were eliminated in the second count, while Fianna Fáil’s Eddie Mulligan was eliminated in the third count.
