The Irish Coastguard says conditions have 'deteriorated significantly' in the search of a fisherman missing off the Wexford Coast.

It's after a trawler sank in the early hours of Sunday morning near Hook Head - and 65-year-old Joe Sinnott was later recovered but later died.

The operation continues to find Willie Whelan, who is in his 40s, but it has been hampered by weather conditions.

Irish Coastguard Unit Manager Niall Ferns outlines just how bad it is:

"The winds have picked up, unfortunately, the sea state is not as good for searching as it had been yesterday.

"A rain belt coming through had a bad impact on visibility.

"It's not ideal as it had been yesterday but, we are continuing with the search."
