An audit of Waterford City and County for 2016 has revealed that over €850,000 was spent across more than one hundred credit cards.
An investigation by Waterford News and Star Reporter Darren Skelton has found that a total of €37,474.23 was spent in bars and restaurants in 2016 using these credit cards.
While a total of €42,266 was spent on hotels of which €20,686 went to separate hotels for the purpose of emergency accommodation. A total of €8,727 was spent shopping in department stores, the majority of that being spent a TK Maxx store in Tralee, Co Kerry.
